16v Gti Lower Intake Manifold Injector insert thingys???

Hi guys, hope you can help

Got my engine out & in bits at the mo for clenaing painting, blah, blah, blah.   Just about send the upper & lower intake manifolds off to the powdercoaters & I could do with removing the plastic inserts the injectors push into.  I can prob get them out but they are very fragile & already breaking up, what i don't want to do is destroy them, getting them out & not be able to get any more. I've been to the stealers but they were'nt obvious on ETKA.  I Guess what I'm asking is.  Is there a knack to removing them & does anyone know if they are still available?  If so what are they called or even better a part number

Matt, the brass insert the other side of the bakelite 'thingy' can be removed with an allen key. The bakelite insert then taps out, and the billy bonus is that the part no is on it!!

The plastic inserts are avail i bought some last week part number for my 1800 16v H reg was:  035133554  @£1.46 ea +vat

Don't forget the rubber 'O' ring that goes between them too.

Thank you very much guys!  I've tried to get the brass bit out with an allen key, but i can't shift i & I have a nasty habit of breaking stuff . I assume they just unscrew or am i missing somthing

Brass against aluminium can be a git, try some WD40, leave it for a while and try again.
