there might have been hype about the GTI's not depreicating, but that information probably came from the stealers. anyone worth their salt in the trade knows that as soon as there is a good supply of second hand cars out there, the values will drop.
I think people buying the Edition 30 who think it will mythically hold its value more than any other VW are mistaken. Granted there may be less of them, but when Mr. Joe Public goes to guy a second hand GTI in a few years time, he isnt going to worry about an 30 extra BHP, especially if he has to pay more for it.
"Edition 30 cars will be worth between £1,500 and £1,700 more than the standard Golf GTi"
of course, as you had to pay more for it in the first place!
