Hello - Mk 3 Newbie
« on: 27 February 2007, 11:25 »
Hi guys n gals,

great forum, already picked up some useful stuff on here in the last 24 hours

picking up my '97 TDi tonight - not the most exciting motor maybe ( a mere 90bhp :( ), but as a runaround and general commuting tool it'll hopefully serve me well. For what i've paid for it, it'll not matter if it falls to bits after 3 months lol!

Mileage currently at 100k, VW service history til 65k, then VW specialists.    I think all the main bits have been done, exhaust 2 years ago, battery and starter motor 1 yr ago, decent Michelin tyres all round.

No idea about clutch or injectors or pump replacements, might find them listed when i have chance to sift through the paperwork

Jobs for the weekend already piling up :(

Wash n wax
repair glovebox - like everyone else from what i read  :undecided:
Oil n filter changes
Gearbox oil change - looks easy so might as well
Find a cheap cd player to replace the Sony radio cassette

Look forward to searching for more info, and asking silly questions in the coming weeks

Thankfully fleebay looks to be loaded with bits n bobs, so running costs should be pretty low.
