It's a 5-dr (15-month-old kid), Pearl black, 18s, Xenons, and a few bits and bobs incl rear sensors and smoked windows...the wallet ran dry then

Nice spec!

Never owned a new car before so massively excited - just gagging to get in and go for a blast. My 1991 Mk2 still rocks and even though I don't drive it hardly at all anymore, I still love it so much - hopefully the new one will be as close to my heart.

Oh, I'm sure you'll love the MkV too, especially with the DSG box.  The "fart" sound that it makes on high rev changes is just so addictive - but you'll have to wait for it to be properly run in before you hear that!

Ordered mine (Not Edition 30) on the 13th of February and was originally given the same delivery date (End of April/Early May). Spoke to the dealer today and he said build week was week 18 (which I believe is week beginning 30th April (please correct me if wrong)), with delivery hopefully a few weeks later. Wonder why I'm waiting around 4-5 weeks longer?

Different dealers have different "allocation slots" at the factory.  Maybe the OP was lucky that his dealer had a closer slot than yours.  Just make sure you pester your own dealer for the allocation number, the dialogue number, and the build week - and the process "markers" which the factory feed back.

Not been rude by not answering but been having real hassle getting onto this site this weekend - bit busy I guess!

Not massively worried about when it arrives despite being really excited - trying to sell a (whisper) Ford Focus that I am chopping in for the Mk5 and in traditional main dealer style they've offered me absolutely rock bottom book price. Reckon I might be able to shift in on flea-bay or locally for about £1250 more than they are offering. It all counts
