door handle colour?

Hey all, just spent half my saturday givin the car a bit of spit n polish and was just wondering if anyone could tell me wot colour the little strips on the side of the door handles are supposed to be? and how can I bring them back to life? Mine are really badly faded, almost white looking :sad: The car is a 91 8v (Royal Blue). Also any sugestions on restoring other areas of trim (rubber and plastic) Back to black is great . . . till it rains and looks like someone has pissed down the side of your car :angry: I'm way too scared to try the thing with a heat gun! although I have heard it said that kiwi shoe polish in the little bottle with an applicator on the top does the trick? Can anyone back this up? or suggest anything else? Cheers :smiley:

Get down the scrappy and 'acquire' some chrome strips for the handles !  :wink: :grin:

Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

GTI's where black plastic as standard. Grab some chrome ones off a lower spec mk2 or similar.  :wink:
