service reset???

does anyone know how to get the service now light of the dash as its starting to get on my nerves now.bought the car from local garage who supposedly serviced it when i got the car but didnt reset the service light.

anyone know how this is done?

This works for  the service display in the mileometer, if you have the service display as part of the red multi-function display that counts down in 100 mile intervals, bleeps at you on start up and gets very irritating, the procedure is slightly different. It involves the stalk control for the multi function display. I will need to look out the instructions again. Will do if no one else replies.

Finally got round to posting the procedure -

Reseting the service indicator on the red centre display (counts down in intervals of 100 miles!) 

Turn off ignition, press and hold mileage reset, turn on ignition then release mileage reset, now press the small reset button on your right hand column stalk - the one that resets your average mpg etc. This resets your service display.
