Power Steering Squealing.(lol)

Any idea why my power steering squeals when on full lock? It happens with either lock. Danny.

Your PAS belt is knackered- new one is about 3 quid from GSF, takes 10 mins to fit :smiley:

it will squeel on full lock, you're putting the pump under load.  The owners manual specifically tells you not to hold it at full lock ;)

I'll take the advice re changing belt. I've driven many cars with power steering and never had one squeal under full lock. I think there would be a lot of irate motorists if they did this constantly and loudly!

PS. The power steering is an add on along with the 2ltr bottom end, consequently -  no owners manual to advise me of the perils of full lock.
