trouble starting when engine's warm
« on: 16 January 2007, 21:53 »
hi, just wondering if anyone has any ideas about this... I have a 1.6 Mk3 CL, when the engine is cold it always starts on the first turn straight away. When the engine is warm it takes a good second or more of turning over before it starts. What could cause this?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for that, I'll have a look.

Recently, the temp gauge on the dash has been a bit all over the place, could this be due to the faulty sensor or could it be the thermostat?

That sound's like a faulty temp sensor or lose wiring...And on the pic i have refered to this as ecu temp sensor and when they fail the ecu think's the engine is cold and then add's more fuel (making your engine hard to start)
