Weird Red Water Temp Light Issue...
« on: 12 January 2007, 08:59 »
Hi Guys

Got a weird water light issues, heres the thing, i park my car on a hill in the evenings. Wake up in the morning go out and start the car to go to work. it starts and the red light flashes and doesnt go out, keeps on flashing from start. If i stop start the car the light goes up, i tend to do this at the top of the hill. It always didnt do this when i first brought the car, it was slightly warmer then, but not sure if thats linked. I remember before on the Mk2's the water temp light flashes on start and then goes out.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Knobby.

Flashing light is coolant LEVEL when engine is running. Try topping the coolant level up to the MAX mark on a level surface to see if that helps.

Feel like a total idiot!  :embarassed:

Just checked and the system was low on water. Think im gonna do a flush at the weekend and renew the fluid. it doesnt and hasnt been running hot.

Might do a mini service over the weekend.

Cheers
