Still waiting to collect mine, but one of the things I have specifically asked for on prep, is that they sort out the standard pipes.
They look fine, but I noticed every single GTi on the VW forecourt, had exhaust pipes that looked 5 years old - no matter what the age.
Mine is 12 months old and the pipes look rotten. They had better put the effort in to clean them, or the originaly poster's question will be answered when I demand resolution from the dealer
