Details, Details...!
« on: 31 December 2006, 16:26 »
Hi guys, for a while Ive been thinking what would be a good car thats not going to loose too much money but be fun to drive and I'm coming to the conclusion of either Mk1 golf gti or an MG Bgt so it would be really handy if you in your wisdom could weigh up a few things for me?! Wont go on and thank you in advance!
Mk1 Golf Gti:
Insurance group
Weight
Expected MPG
Expected Bhp/Torque
Things to look for when going to look at one (please me explicit i should (he says) know what you mean)
Anything else i should know, planning to lighten her and refurb engine maybe sticking in some cams provided i have use of a rolling road at the time of purchase!

Thanks again guys! Oh does anyone know/has a contact number for toofunkyhouse, has sold his car? I think I'm in love! with his!

Why would you want a car that was killed off by a far superior competitor

The MK1 golf almost single handedly killed the MGB GT off ,

Better build , better handling , bigger and more reliable

my mk1s got some rust but concidering its an 83 car and thats about the time the last of the Bs rolled off the line if you stood them both side by side after 23 years of daily use , the mk1 would win every time

 You knows it clart
