k&N on a mk2 8v
« on: 19 January 2004, 09:58 »
i have an old (but barely used) K&N 57i that i had on my old polo in the garage at home... i know a girl with a mk2 8v and she wants one.. does anyone know if this would be a straight fit like it was on my old polo or whether it needs an adapter?
Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...

When you get the 57i kit for a golf you get a adapter plate for the air flow meter and a large metal bracket for everything to mount to, and then it locates on the suspension turret. (rather poor fit I might add ! It snapped the bolt off my and I'm back with the standard box !!)

I doubt very much it'll be a straight fit unless the polo is very similar ...

thanks. sounds like an adapter is needed then.. with the polo it just cir-clips right on, no extra business needed
