USB armrest option
« on: 28 December 2006, 17:21 »
In the Edition 30 thread mrtibbs27 informed me that you can't order the USB armrest option anymore and that his dealer is having to retro fit it.
Just got off the phone to my dealer. They told me that VW have suspended fitting the USB interface any more. They work fine with a cheap USB flashdrive but the head unit has problerms with more expensive music players. The dealer didn't know about this problem at all, at first.
New cars that are coming through including the golf match will be fitted with I-pod prep. I asked about my order and they wont know until the factory opens up next week.

Now...................... I don't own an I-Pod, I have plenty of flash drives thats why I ordered the USB interface!!!
Also I don't want to go and spend hundred plus on an I-Pod!
Bye Bye Edition 30

I use my 4 year old 15GB ipod (so old its got a B & W screen!) in the car, doesnt really matter as it just acts a hard drive.  I'm sure you could get one off ebay cheaply.
