One of my rear wheels sit 1inch inwards?

Just looking down the side of my gti cab and the n/s rear alloy sits about an inch tucked in under the car compared to the other. Haven't had time to fully investigate....alloys look the same offset. What could be the explanation for this? Handles and drives beautifully... and it's barely noticeable...just wondering?

Posted this on another forum and some1 suggested he'd seen a few mk1's like that and his brothers had the same....he just put a spacer on that side. Any 1 heard of that before?

could be it's had a bang and the body re-pair has not been that hot, the stub axel has got bent, or the rear arm bushes are knackerd.  I would never ever reccomend puttin spacers on the back of the car, with out doing the same to the front, but putting one on just one cornor is a hidious and dangrous idea, it will royaly phuq the handling when you really need it not to (ie excessive cornor speed etc.)

So, check;

bodywork
bushes
axel alignment
see if anything else is bent.

Take both rear wheels of and measure the distance between the stub axles and the arch lip.  That should give you a better picture of whats going on
