The G40 and G60 names referred to the depth of the superchargers operating chamber in millimeters and the G60 Ralleye and G60 engines are different, the G60 is a 1781 cc and the charger is driven at 1.6 times crank speed. The G60 Ralleye is a 1763 cc and the charger is driven at 1.7 times crank speed and yes I am a anorak  :undecided: :embarassed:

Thats good knowledge. So is the rallye faster then? or am i opening an oversized can of killer worms?

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

I think the reason the Rallye's charger spins a bit quicker is to make up for the smaller capacity of the engine...which was only smaller due to homologation (sp?) purposes as VW wasn't allowed to use the 1781cc engine in that class of Rallying.

Pretty sure they produce the same power as the G60 tho.
