bad dealer experience
« on: 03 November 2006, 12:52 »
left my car in for it's first service....asked them to replace the vw center caps in the alloys as they had started to corrode...now, the only way to remove these is to take off the wheel and pop the cap out from behind....now, I still cant believe this but, instead of doing this they used a screwdriver or similar to lever out the cap and now I have a nice gouge on each wheel!!...can you believe it!!

Originally they said that I would get a new set of wheels...but two weeks on this has changed to "we'll have to wait for another new GTI to come in (but this could take some time and cant give me a timeframe) so we can replace them...or you can get them repaired"....grrrrr....never ever buying a vw ever again!

Get back in touch and get them to commit to ordering/supplying new wheels immediately and write to VW Customer Service. Not good enough to 'wait and see' for another GTI to come in - what are they going to do with your damaged wheels, put them on that car ? They can simply order the new wheels as new/replacement parts, but make sure they are trained and equipped to fit them properly without incurring damage when switching over the tyres. Not good enough - give them hell.
