in the 2litre 8v gti are the ecus
in the early models and the late models all the same

nope, IIRC there are 3 based on the year. If you're on about your P reg there in the pics, it may very well be a Simos.

my mate has got a n reg one with a chipped ecu
and he is sellin the car so was gonna swap ecus wit
him.

Wouldnt work anyway - the ECU's are key coded to each cars ignition!

No they aren't, only on 1995 onwards.

Early and late models have different fuel injection systems anyway, as already stated!!  :laugh:

Hi,
Might work as long as its a Simos AGG engine the ECU can be swapped, the new ECU will have to be matched to the immobiliser but thats it and can be done with VAG-COM.
8V GTI 95> onwards use the same ECUs.
