I have used redex before, it is cheap and has proved effective.
If the car doesn't perform as well as it should then get the static timing checked, when was the cam belt done last?

slick 50 fuel system treatment!! as good as rocket fuel!
use to make my escort eclipse go like the clapers....
it use to sometimes come passed the 8v gti which i own now! ;D it had the hcs engine theses breathed oil back into the chambers which resulted in lower performance! timed with my stop watch 10 seconds to 60 the escort did!

that was my proper ''boy racer'' car!!! big bore and air filter! ;D

but since driving the vr6 its stealth .it fast..... and no one knows they think its just a 1.4 ;D ;D
2.8 v6 bigger engine than a skyline ;D ;D

or you could just do an itailan tune up this involves keeping the revs high 4000 - 5000 rpm for a few minutes. best do it down a duel carrageway in 3rd at 60 - 70mph! make sure your engine oil is on maximum and is hot and the engine is fully warm!!!

only do this if you know the engines been looked after ie oil changes and the oil hasnt gone below minimum!

i take it to the redline all the time but then i check the oil before i go out in it and i far as ive owned it it has never gone below minimum.... this is why its on 196000 miles! ;D
