How long does it take you guys....
« on: 05 November 2006, 16:54 »
...to clean your cars? I've just spent 4 hours washing, drying, polishing, buffing and blacking mine and its bloody freezing out!

Didn't expect it to take so long! :undecided:

However, I have to give big respect to the autoglym polish, its the first time I've used it and I have to say its awesome stuff!

The paint on my car looked really dull before hand and I wasn't very happy with it, now it looks great! lovely and shiny!  I was expecting it to look better then it did but not as good as it does! well chuffed!

Don't question it.....just enjoy it!

Thats not bad... I take a little over that to do just the outside with polish etc.
Interior takes about an hour... my car isn't immaculate.

I haven't done the interior, thats for tomorrow!

I haven't had a car that I've wanted to keep clean for the last 2years so its a bit of a shock to the system!!

Well worth it though, the car looks great!

if i go to town on it a few hours and thats washing, drying, polishing and wax, then tyre stuff, clean the rubbers up, quick hoover and all that. cleaning the glass always seems the worst part for some reason?! especially the inside of the windscreen as it always seems to smear no matter what!

I've noticed that joe, even when you by "No smear" window cleaner it still smears!!!

I'm hoping window polish rather than cleaner will sort that problem.  :undecided:

Normal clean and chamois, including wheels normally takes me an hour. Polishing and waxing the outside normally about 4-6 depending on how many cups of tea, and a show prep or cleaning a new car/car to sell normally about 10-12 hours.

When i was younger i used to spend the full day in the summer doing my car but now i just dont bother. Its lucky if it get a jet wash once a month

A tip for the windows. Use news paper! wet one and clean the window then use a scrumpled up dry piece to dry to a streak free finish. Honest! give it a try and you wont be disapointed.
