« on: 25 September 2006, 15:21 »
hi,

i have a mk 4 golf gti, recently fitted a set of 18's, now its time to lower the car. now i need to know whats the best suspension set up i can go for?
i want to keep the smooth ride, but don't want it to scrape. do i go for full on adjustable coil overs? or should i just go for uprated shocks and springs? need some advice please?? what does every one put on a mk 4 golf??

any advice please?

Cheers people.

Coilovers friend. You get what you pay for. Also means you can lower and raise the car, a little bit of arch scrub never hurt anybody but the MOT tester. So being able to raise the suspention come MOT time is a massive plus. You also have huge performance advantages ontop of that

hahahaha fielders a c**k. sorry but he is just a tit. What a waste of forum space for that moron.

but which coil overs mate? just height adjust or fully adjustable?  my brothers got a mk3 vr6 with a set of FK fully adjustables, n they are the dogs!! but a bit expensive! just wanted to know if a cheaper option would be as good?

Cheers

looking at this aswel.  I personally wont want to slam the nuts off my car when i fit sum 18s i just want to have it low enuf so it doesnt look like an x5!! so i dont know what people think for me!  However if you want to pretty much slam the car then id get coilovers jst incase u need to carry a heavy load or like said, mot time.  not sure of prices but i think youl be looking 3-500 quid?? feel free to correct me if im wrong.  And sorry i cant advise you what makes are good or bad.

regards,

john

how much did you pay for the spax? were they coilovers or just some uprated shox? iv been lookin about n you can pick up some fully adjustable coilovers for bout the £500-600 mark, but ideally i wanted a cheaper option? dont wanna be scrapin the arches, just wanna fill em n stop the HIGH-RIDER look!!

Cheers for the help tho lads.

The Spax RSX are fully height and damping adjustables, cant remember the exaxt price as I sort of got em for nothing on a bit of a scam :lipsrsealed:
