I took the mk3 I had my eye on for a test drive out of curiosity. Nice car, but it's no more a GTI than a mk3 diesel.
It's the little things that give it away - Monza tyres, "FVWSH" (no 5k oil changes then), still having that Nissan Micra in your rear view mirror after a few twisties.
I think the mk2 deserves her rear beam re-bushing. I know she'll appreciate it.
