Usually if you kerb a car its the track rod that gets bent, hence the need to get the tracking done to avoid excessive tyre wear etc. I can't see that causing your whining noise. Maybe you've damaged the wheel bearing
If you're lucky it might just be something minor like your brake shield has bent and is rubbing the wheel
