Glove Box

 Hi chaps

Anyone know from experience if you have to remove the centre console to remove the glove box as in the Vortex guide it doesnt actually say if you can just remove the glove box on its own, need a new one!

My damn car has now decided that the mechanism on the glove box has packed up and it has only done 29k but VW will say its just outside it 3 yr warranty.

Thats 2 things in one week front drive shaft and no the glove box (build quality is not what it used to compared to my older models!

This happened on mine, you just get a new door then change the lock mech over so you use the same key, 30 min job

About £35 I think from memory, although I just blutac'd mine shut for a few weeks

I am thinking of doing the same for now I just didnt want to have to remove have the interior to get to it.

I got say the mech in them is pretyy poor my car has only done 29k but is now almost a year out of it 3yr or 60k warranty but it should still be fit for the purpose.

My VR6 had the same problem the catch is mad of plastice and just does not stand up to being used at least that one I could remove and fix!

My mates has done 40k and he replaced his door twice , poor IMO
