mk2 16v golf - leaking g/box

Afternoon all , just need some advice on what course of action to take with my problem. I recently had the car MOT'd which had passed but some advisory notes came up. One of them was there was:

A minor gearbox leakage, now i have to say the leakage is very very minial , overnight there was literally only a few drips of fluid on the drive.

What possible causes could there be ? What would be my options, solutions etc.. ? Worse comes to the worse, how much for a g/box ? 91 J Mk2 Golf 16v

its probably just the driveshaft seals. can you not see where its leaking from??

At worst the box is cracked. But its probably just the fill or drain plugs need re sealing or as gambit said above. Clean up all the bottom then see if you can see exactly where the leak comes from. A word of warning though, if your box oil gets low you will end up killing it. 5th gear will be first to go!
