Passenger electric window
« on: 19 August 2006, 18:55 »
Hi all,

I have a 1994 Mark 3, the passenger electric window is very strange. If you press the button to make it go up or down it will go up (or down, depending on which button you press) a couple of inches then stop, you then have to release the button and press again at which point it goes up a few inches again ?? This must be done until it reaches the bottom or top and takes about 5-6 presses.

Any idea, tis very annoying.

hi, have you checked the wires in the rubber boot in the hinge of the door? They have a habit of snapping - just an idea.

I will have a look, thanks for the idea.

I cant for the life of me think what the problem could be to be honest as it seems very strange to work but only in small movements. If they had snapped surely it would not work at all ?

When mine went in the back the motor used to make strange noises without opening the window, so it seems anything can happen!
