Hi all,

I am soon to be collecting a mark 3 golf on a 1994 plate.

As you can see I currently own the mark2 on the far left of my sig, are there any bits I can swap to the new car ?? I was thinking of maybe the alloys as the new car is a 4 stud and maybe the exhaust back box. Do you think these would go straight on ??

Wahey thanks for that, they are the main thing I was hoping would fit. Will just have to hope the VR6 mark 3 alloys will suit my mark 2 and fit over the uprated brakes then eh.

Will get under and have a butchers at the exhaust when I pick then mark 3 up saturday.

Thanks matey, know of anything else that may fit ?

erm...not sure to be honest mate I wouldnt imagine there to be alot really. Is the exhaust a universal one or is it made to fit a mark 2 8 valve?

VR6 wheels wont fit on a mark 2 as they are 5 stud fitment (5X100).

Hmmm maybe they not VR6 alloys then  :rolleyes: They definately 4 stud though so me mate says BBS of some sort.

The exhaust is a mark 2 16v Magnex backbox which rattles and gets right on my titties on the mark 2 so I shall see if it will fit on the mark 2 and then take the mark 3 box and stick on the mark 2. Obviously depends on how much hastle it is to swap and how it looks, otherwise I may just leave as is  :laugh:

Ah well thanks for ya help the alloys are the main thing :)

In fact these are the same alloys, what are they ?

not sure what they are to be honest mate. its def a 4 stud? is it a GTI?

in terms of the back box it might be a whole lot of hassle taking them both off, realising the dont fit then having to put the back on. I would just leave it and not run the risk

Backboxes wont swap easily as the fitment is different.  Theres hardly anything you can swap from your MK2, except perhaps the wheels as said, but only if the MK3 is indeed 4 stud.

Ok thanks for that, to be honest before I would even consider the swapping of exhaust I would make sure they would fit if not I wont bother. With regards to the alloys he assures me its a four stud but he is a bit 'fick' so I would build my hopes up. I need to also consider the effect 17's will have on the new cars ride height as well as the mk3 alloys on the mark 2 which I am under the impression has uprated brakes.

Thanks for all your help I will be getting the car Saturday so will report back.
