Does anyone know how to get at the air filter on the mkV GTI?

I know, I'm hopeless! I assume the entire engine cover comes off, but I can not see any screws - help required! Oh, great forum! My first post, be gentle!

Hi there and welcome.

To remove the engine cover simply grab it and pull it upwards - its held on by a ball and socket affair!

I dont know if you can access the air filter under there though!
