Small bumper question

The question i have for you all today is this.
How close in shape and width is a rear small bumper compared to a front small bumper?
The reason for this question is that i love the small bumper look but would like to get rid of the front number plate recess without painting the bumpers.
Has anyone else wondered about doing this or should i just leave well alone?
If anyone has a pair of small bumpers lying around would you be able to lay them on top of each other and compare?
Thanks for any replies to my query.

The obvious point is that the front bumper goes alot further down the sides of the front wings than the rear bumper does on the back wings

i have thought about this too, many a time infact, but when i did all the bodywork on the golf i had a little look but didnt fancy the idea as i think the metal inserts will need swapping over etc, let me know if u hav a go at it.
