GTI Airbox

I've recently bought a 92 Mk3 Golf GTI 8v with Bosch airflow meter. I've noticed the standard air filter has been changed for a K&N filter and some big holes have been drilled into the front of the air box facing the head lamp and as far as I can tell no where else on the air box. Is this going to cause me any problems?

No. The K&N filter will improve airflow and the holes basically add a nice noise to the induction roar. Its a common mod.

Thanks for the reply, that's ok then, I thought it was more common to put the holes down the side not at the front. Doesn't seem to roar much either.

They will be at the front to catch the air better.
The more holes and the bigger they are the better the roar.
