yeah i dont know.. my mate used to work for them and thats what she told me, dont know how true it is. my 98 is all silver too, soon to be debadged.

i know the deal with the badges... they used to put the red i's on all the turbos however thiefs then new what golfs to steal, so they tend not to do the red i's anymore.. or so i got told from my vw.

People could still tell it's a turbo from the bigger wheels and Recaro seats (especially with the 3rd rear headrest) so I doubt that they changed the badges for that reason.

Not all turbos have recaro's tho :huh: now we are back where we started :laugh:

Aye - and my Turbo had only two rear head rests - as it had the centre armrest option for the reat seat.

And 16" wheels and sports susp was an option for the GTi non turbo.

Surefire way is the yukky plastic wood on the Turbo - no one would upgrade their non turbo to that!!!
