mk2 8v Brake upgrade

Hi anyone got any ideas for upgrading  the brakes on our 8v.I know the G60 route is a good bet but  I`m a bit reluctant to fit sec hand 15yr old brakes onto the car. .any ideas mucho appreciated..

Thanks Slick was thinking of trying something like that is it worth upgrading pads as well? .What sort of difference will I get from trying the above.Haven`t  messed around with brakes before.A  weird point to note  is (have tried it in several cars) if you left foot brake they are sh1t hot.strange but it works don`t want to get used to doing but weird at how much difference it makes.

tarrox and main dealer pads are what i run on the front and they work a treat! braided hoses do firm up the pedal also...

Braided hoses stop pipe flex under hard braking.

Pads, green stuff are pretty good, vag pads are good also. Black diamond are meant to be pretty nice too.

Left foot breaking will be sh!t hot, as you use loads more pressure on the pedal than you will with your right foot. You may not think you are, but you are.

On my previous golf I had Zimmerman cross drilled and vented disc's and pagid fast road pads, the brakes were awesome and never faded at all.

i have a set of BREMBO 280mm front discs to go on my mk2 8v.but i dont know what is needed to make them fit .

id go for cross drilled rather than grooved, otherwise you get a nice growling noise under heavy brakiing

but yeah braided hoses & even a 16v master cylinder
