unlike haribo (), follow my advise and at least fit a complete GTI zuast system including the manifold while the head is off, you'll see a nice gain even if you dont fit a GTI head

yep, that also eliminates the driver downpipe 2 manifold problem, wish i had done it now...not that it matters as im scrapping he car but still

depends what you need  im breaking a driver but alot of bits are spoken for, ide give you my gti head but with everything els ive got to do i dont have time to take it off before i have to get it scrapped, tax runs out soon and the neighbours are getting annoyed having an extra car outside

neva mind , anyway ive found out it is off a 87 m2 so all should be ok , what was invlolved in drilling that coolant channel ? does any1 have a link to any guides on here to change the headgasket ? im bein stingey , dont wana buy a haynes  :embarassed:

Get on ebay, you can get em for like a quid!  Make sure you go for the green one as it contains a bit more detail than the red one

as for that hole, what i did was took the drivers head and abit of wire and ent the wire to go thru the hole then bend to be in line with the head to get my angle, then line it up on the gti head(tbh i dont think it has to DEAD ON but as long as your close itll still go)  then get a small drill bit and slowely drill thru until you feel it break thru into the channel thats running thru the head, as you can imagine itll suddenly just go in really easy as you break thru, then do the same with a bigger drill bit, try and find one as big as the hole on the drivers head, if you cant it then as long as its fairly big that doesnt really matter either, itll stilll let coolant thru which is all it need. thats is really, spray cak loads of carb cleaner into the head to clear all the metal shavings
