Changing front discs...

I attempted this a while back, i could not move those carrier bolts for the life of me, i got wd40 on them, soaked for 2 days, blow torch the lot, would not budge! I guess i need a big handled driver, but aint got one

I have been meaning to get a local garage to crack them lose for me, then do them back up for me of couse so i could get them off again

Those 2 carrier bolts are done up to about 90 lb ft, so they won't move in a hurry.
Also on some cars i have worked on, the carrier bolts are slighty too long, so the ends poke through the hub, the problem with this is the ends accumulate lots of rust, so making the bolts extremely hard to remove, especially if they haven't been removed for a few years. So be warned! its not always an easy job.

With the help of a large torque wrench and allen key bit they finally gave way, and yes they were the original discs.

Though I did have to shout at them for a while

Dude! You're not really going to spray WD40 over your brake's are ya?

get a fooking long breaker bar and swing off it.........

Yeah breaker bars on my list of things to get

I remember when i was jumping on the socket that i thought the car was going come off the axel stands LoL

Glad i read this thread as it reminded me to replace them, they have been sitting on the shelf for months I am going to get my CV joints replaced next month, taking it to a gut down the road to do as he's very cheap and i can't be arsed so i'll get him to change the discs aswell

Ive just the front end on my Rallye, the Carrier bolts were very tight, i soaked them in WD40 for an hour or so.. then turned the steering wheel so the wheels  pointed out of the car at the front, Will give you a much better angle to get some leverage on it, Oh and you will need a breaker bar.....
