need help with cv/driveshaft mk2 1.6 driver.

noticed when i reversed out my space where i live (have to swing it to the left) it was sort of felt like the wheels where jumping!


drove girlfriend home came back jacked it up put it on full lock and spun wheels slowly no noise.


then i noticed when i slightly spun a wheel like just a little bit there was a clicking/tapping coming from the diff (i think its the diff I'm new to this, its where the shafts meet the block correct me if Ive called it the wrong name ;)  )


anyway i took a pick as i noticed on the driver side drive shaft a green sort of sleeve looked like its popped out the diff housing. have a look sorry pics are crap. any help is much appreciated, ignore any spelling or anything as I'm tired cheers.

That green sleeve is supposed to be there.

The green thing is normal as said, I hope that 'wetness' in the pic is water?  That 'ticking' noise may just be the UJ's on the drive shafts, they can 'tick' a bit when spun on full deflection.......or it could be the diff rivets about to fall out, I hope not because the next thing will be for them to grind through the gearbox casing!!!! Oil everywhere & end of gearbox..... fairly common on Mk2's...  If the 'wetness' is gearbox oil its probably happened
