Hi mate,

Do they have your signature against any order for a new key? How long between you going in and them demanding you collect/pay for the key?

Ta
Ben

no i dont think i had soem other remedial work but only signed for the reciept of that work and that was on the credit card recipet i.e signing for the credit card on the small recipt bit that gets printed off from the till.

its been about 4-5 months since they got in touch with me regardign a key and that was only because i rang them regardng an inquery and then they said by the way blah blah blah

ps I think Ben's right - As long as they haven't got an order from you stating you will owe them £x when the key comes in (with your signature on it, as well), then I don't think they'll have a leg to stand on.

It's strange though, as dealers usually want money (deposit at least) up front for things like keys, as they are obviously no good on any other car.
