New Car Tax rules Vs VR6?
« on: 17 May 2006, 14:17 »
Hey guys...  I was on here a couple weeks back wondering about which Mk3 GTi to get (wanted more comfort/more modern cruisemobile than a Mk2...)  In the end I got an offer I couldn't refuse from a mate of mine to get his VR6 off him

I'm picking it up on saturday, but was just wondering if anyone's got any idea how much tax is on these beasties (don't think it's due for a little while, but not sure) under the new rules?  The DVLA's links can't help for anything older than 2001, and this is an M plate.  I've done a bit of googling and have searched the forum, but apologies if there's a blatant link somewhere I've missed

Obviously whole forests will die in brazil every time I start 'er up, so it won't be cheap, but anyone have any idea?

p.s.... Anyone know what could be wrong with a 5dr Mk3 front electric window?  It worked intermittently for a bit (resulting in "my-window's-stuck-down" type hilarity) but now seems to have packed in completely.  I'm fairly sure it's a loose connection in the plug (inside the door) since taping it on firmly seemed to help for a while, and the problem is the same whether using the switch on the door itself or the one on the centre console...  Any ideas/suggestions appreciated

Well, I guess that's my target for how much to get for my crappy old 1.3 J plate escort then!

Soooo looking forward to Saturday now!  Torque! Torque everywhere! Climbing hills in gears other than 2nd! [/overexcited]

New VED rules only apply to post 2001 cars. You can relax, safe in the knowledge that someone in a brand new Porsche 911 GT3 pays about a fiver less for his VED than you do.

Wrong wheels and mine's Calypso not snot but it's close enough
