Headlight Wiring loom on a MK2

Is it easy to install a MK2 Headlight loom? Need some crystal headlights and a debadged grill for my temporary fix on my Rallye whilst I carry our some 'essential' work to the Rallye Headlights.

If you have basic soldering skills it's pretty easy  Look at www.matey-matey.co.uk for a wiring diagram. If you don't want to cut up the original loom, use some H4 headlight plugs instead of splicing the new loom into the old one, use wire with spade connectors to connect from one plug to another.

Also, looking at the diagram repeat the whole circuit for main beam if you want that uprated as well, including another realy

Alternatively, dizzie on this forum sells them if you get be @rsed.

Carried out this mod from scratch today.
Bought a 30 Amp relay and Blade fuse holder from local Automotive supplier(£5.49), got the cable and crimps from work and the diagram from http://www.matey-matey.com/uprated_headlight_wiring.shtml.
Took about an hour to do including making up the loom.
Everything seems to work just need to try the lights at night but any body with any knowledge could carry out this Mod

do the main beam as well, after using the uprated dipped you will now be disappointed at how poor the main beam looks!

Is it really worth doing the main beam as i hardly use main beam and i have the 4 light grille so amin beam quite bright anyway

Main beam will be fine to leave alone, especially if you're happy with it as is.
But I would consider relaying/fusing each side seperately.  One relay/fuse failure and you'll loose all your lights

Is it standard practice to relay and fuse both Headlights when doing this mod or is it just personal opinion, as all drawings / Mod kits only show 1 relay and fuse.
Not really a problem to install 2nd relay and fuse just wondering thats all
