Camber adjustment help needed
« on: 24 April 2006, 15:40 »
All,

Please help, had the mk3 dropped on 35mm springs, need the tracking doing for starters (that shouldnt be a problem). I have also been told that the camber will need doing as the lowering has made the front wheels push out slightly more at the top than bottom (by about 2-3mm), like so (obviously exagerated here):

I have also been told by someone else that the camber cannot be adjusted on mk3 gtis!? I personally think this is rubbish, is this true? I hope not, otherwise, what the hell has caused this? please help...

camber is adjustable on mk 3's .  try to find a decent place near you with laser alignment equipment. I think should be -1.3 degrees give or take .10  .

sweet dude, awesomegti do it for 55 plus vat, that sounds ok doesnt it? compared to the 120 quoted by vw.
stupid punk garage where i had it dropped kept quiet about this sort of thing

one of thing, since being dropped the car feels a bit scary to drive, the steering feels a bit liht at times, and pulls on the tiniest tiny thing on the road. The person at awesome on the blower said they was the geometry set up, does that sound right to the experts?

yeah, thats what mine was like when i lowered it. the negative camber self centresthe steering wheel . £55 sounds good for 4 wheel re-alignment and awesome gti is a good place to get it done.
