1.4i mk3 issues...
« on: 22 April 2006, 12:45 »
hey

hopefully someone here will be able to help me out... its a 1992 mk3 1.4i, my brothers car, and basically its suffering from what i assume is oil starvation in the cylinder head...

the car broke down a while back, the oil light was buzzing/flashing, yet there was loads of oil in it... couldnt work it out, and then a couple of miles from home it ground to a halt (literally!)... the head had seized, yet the block was fine... we sourced another cylinder head, fitted it (service/new gaskets etc etc), and its the same again, oil light flashing/buzzing... i reckon its the oil pump that has given up, but before we go and change it, want to know what you guys reckon it might be...??

really appreciate any help guys...

cheers

alex
