Okay I have found another problem with the car this evening !! *groans*. It seems like my fuel pump is playing up when I am sat idling for some time. This evening I was stuck in a traffic jam on the way home from work. After about 10mins I could hear a loud whining noise from the fuel pump. This would last for approx 2mins and then it would stop. Right after the sound stopped so did the engine. I could start it for about 2mins and then it would be okay again. Next time it happened I managed to boot the throttle and coax it to keep running.
Just as I was passing through the accident the pump whined again and by the time it stopped I was up to approx 70mph. Then the engine died and eventually picked up again when the fuel was sucked through the line again.
So my question is, how easy is it to change the fuel pump and do I need to know anything critical beforehand ?
Thanks for your help!
Paul

Edit.. PS.. My missus has called the car Steve Austin as it has been virtually rebuilt since I bought it !! *Laughs*
