GT TDI 170ps. Coming out in the next couple of months. Running the same engine as the new 170ps TDI Passat. AFAIK will be the same as the GT but with a GT badge on front and rear (definately not a GTI diesel)

GT TSI is actually twin charged via Turbo and Supercharger. Again in GT trim but with a little 1.4 engine but with a Turbo and Supercharger bolted to it. Again pushing 170ps (167bhp). This will also be here in the next couple of months.

Hope this helps

Thanks for info MD

The 'GT' range seems to be getting a bit complicated! - can GTi suspension be specified on the Diesel? - that would suit me down to the ground.

I saw a picture of the GT TDI168 and it looked like the GTi - is this just the facelift and all Golfs will now look like the GTI (big chin grill)

I rather like the sound of this 1.4TT - would be fab in a Lupo sized car.

Found this..

Golf GT

European version of the Golf GT will be shown ahead of the UK version, which is due to arrive in the summer of 2006
GT will sit below GTI in the Golf range
Powered by a new 2.0-litre TDI 170 PS or 1.4-litre TSI (turbo and supercharged) 170 PS engines
TSI ‘Twincharger’ engine features a belt-driven supercharger and an exhaust-driven turbo – the first time both have been used together in volume production
Highly modified version of 1.4-litre FSI 16-valve engine, as used in Golf and Polo
Maximum power of 170 PS at 6,000 rpm
Maximum torque of 177 lbs ft (240 Nm) between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm
Combined fuel consumption of 39.2 mpg; CO2 emissions of 173 g/km
Small capacity of 1,390 cc results in high specific power output of 122 PS
per litre
Golf GT 1.4 TSI performance: 0 to 62 mph in 7.9 seconds; top speed of 136 mph
Compared with 1.4-litre FSI engine, TSI uses extremely rigid grey cast iron cylinder block to withstand higher combustion pressures, plus modified six-hole injectors

i always put diesels down and laugh at them and treat them like sh!t when i drive them, but after driving this golf TDI i was smiling from one ear to the other.

the power and torque the pick up and braking the handling f**king hell totally amazing if i didnt have such a big head i would get one.

just read that again that dnt sound too nice...

i prefer the old box shape cars i dnt like the look of the new cars, but performance wise its totally gobsmacking. To get over the 2.0 HDi... i had to thrash the nuts of my mates vr6 so i convinced my brain petrols are still good lol
