drivers side indicators not working.....
« on: 29 March 2006, 22:40 »
indicators won't flash when turning right, right hand side indicators won't flash either when hazards are on but will flash once when the alarm is activated?? so not prob with the bulbs but something else?? Indicator light doesn't flash on the dash either when turning right?? has happened all of a sudden, were working fine all day until tonight??

anybody have any experience of this or any ideas what best to check or what may be the problem/solution??

regards,

Ben

Had this problem myself......

Easily solved though

Remove the steering wheel and carefull remove the indicator stalk. Open up the stalk mechanism and clean all of the contacts, especially (ironically) the hazard warning switch. Reassemble and you should be able to indicate right once more.

Bear in mind I have found this is only a temporary fix....a new stalk at sometime in the future would be a good move....Check ebay....best place for bargains!!

if its an earlier one, replace the hazard switch on the dash.
If its a later one and cleaning the contacts doesn't fix it, you can use stalks out of a MK3 Golf/SEAT :)
