Paint code
« on: 14 April 2006, 18:14 »
Hi, quick question, is LB5T the paint code for my 16v? It's black, but looks almost charcoal grey in certain lights, does anyone know if this sounds like the correct paint code?

LB5T is a Passat paint according to this http://www.gti16v.com/vwcslb5t.htm#lb5t and looks blue to me.

Hmmm, thats what it says in the service manual, guess maybe it's been resprayed at some point. It's a 1991 16 valve, does anyone know if the factory black on these looked grey in some lights? Or am I stuck with a completely made up colour I'll never find? :undecided:

Sorted! Took it to halfords, they managed to match it up for me. Turns out the paint code should have read LP5T, not LB! No sticker in the boot, who ever wrote it in the service manual obviously wasn't paying too much attention!
