Hi everyone,
I posted a little while ago about the fact that my 2002 1.8 Gti T 63K was losing oil. My local VW garage said this was normal (apparently a Gti can use 1ltr of oil every 600 miles). There didnt appear to be any blue smoke so I lived with it for 6 months.
For the last week the blue smoke has appeared. I can only see it when the engine has warmed up and ive been sitting in traffic, then when i give it some revs it appears. A mate of mine and Turbo Technics seem to agree on the fact that the turbo seals have gone....
What do you lot think? TT also want 550.00 + Vat for a new/ recon turbo. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Ive only had the car 6 months.
