Car Drives Like Tractor

I seem to have a problem with my golf mk4 2.0gti its a X reg , while i was driving it my check engine light started to flash and i lost power in the car , it seem like its running on 3 cylinders & miss firing badly, it hasnt got a smooth idle when i rev it , sounds like a tractor.

You have a coil pack down mate, but you need to find out which one, either by process of elimination or using vagcom, if its only 1, then it will cost you about £20 in the dealers :wink:

How do i find out which one it is without the means of vagcom and how do i replace the coil packs and how do they look like?

with the engine running disconnect the wiring plugs one at a time 3 will make the engine run worse 1 will leave it running the same then bobs your uncle  :cool:

They are on top of you engine and go on to you spark plugs.
