ultra rare vauxhall supertouring rims on a mk2
« on: 31 March 2006, 10:13 »
Hello people
Firstly let me apologize for swearing on a vw forum (VAUXHALL) lol. but i have been offered these supertouring alloys cheap and i wanna fit em to a mk2 golf. does anybody know of anywhere in the uk that can machine pcd adapters?
The rims are 5x 110 and mk2's are 4x100 is this feasible

cheers in advance

any engineering place really if you are able to make a drawing for them, they will have to be fairly thick too as the vauxhall et is about 45 i think. find out if you can buy them off the shelf first though

i don't think it is going to be possible, as i have a set of rims that are 5x112 and some of the holes overlap each other. I imagine the same will be true of the 5x110 set. Unless you are going to change the hubs i think it is best to just hold fire until you know for sure.

I have a Vectra SuperTouring! Ha ha! The wheels are fairly rare now, only 500 sets were ever produced by Irmscher, so people are trying to get there hand on them now to replace damaged ones etc.  They still go for fairly cheap though, even with being so rare.

Can you not use a PCD adapter kit to change the PCD of your hubs?  Also the offset will be around 10 above the VW offset (think the wheels are et45), so you might need to buy some spacers to make them pertrude more away from the hub (so they don't catch the shocks)?

Spot on, can't see it being too hard for someone to machine some up for you.  Even try some of the people selling them on eBay, they might even be able to get some on your behalf (they might even make them themselves).

Can't wait to see pics
