my mate took his car in to capitol vw in Merthyr this morning and they diagnosed the....

....Lambda sensor...

totalcost replaced is ....wait for it....£140 of the queens finest!!!!!!!

hes gutted, but he didnt fancy doing it himself!! (oh well)

now hes sooo pi**ed off with the thing (because its an 8v i think)and this is just one of a string of niggles that have cost him dear,  so hes thinking of getting a 130 BHP
tubo diesel...hahahaha

i told him he must be a bit mad as theres nothing left wrong with the car at all...

but he wants better MPG and hes left foot happy

we'll see what he does..

ive also converted him into a proper Dubnut..we are going to be at a good few meets this year

see you all around folks

^^ just an update....seems like decent average mileage 130bhp tdi's are few and far between??

he's got fed up of lookin for a smoker so has decided on a 1.8T...
theres more to be had apparently!

he wants black, 3dr, and low/ave miles...hes seen a few and hes got an itchy palm(with money people....dirty minds)

so is there any one out there who's lookin for a '99 2.0 gti, 66k, 3dr???? fsh, belt done, air mass done, both widow mechanisms done????? etc etc

his plans are to chip it, perf filter, etc

whats the best chip to get??? Revo???

You cant say what is best and what is not, there are so many out there now, I got Revo on mine, mainly because I could get it done local.  They all quote different figures after the map but every car will respond differently depending on what other mods are done.  Try and get one with a rolling road power run before and after
