Slipping Clutch
« on: 16 March 2006, 11:33 »
Last night I noticed that the clutch is slipping on my Mark 3 8 valve. Once it starts doing this how long have I got before it goes completely? it just slips when you floor it in 3rd or 4th gets to 2000rpm and it'll slip and then when it gets to 3000rpm it'll stop.

I really cant afford to get a new clutch done at the moment as I am trying to fix my mark 2 16v.

Is it best to just get it done asap before it gets worse or can i soldier on for a bit longer?

cheers

I had that problem on my old Series 1 RS Turbo when it came on boost.
If you drive it really sensibly it wont slip?
Mine gave up about 2000 miles later.

my dad drives it mainly, uses it for work and drives pretty sedately so should be ok. I will leave it for a bit and see if he notices it.
