I only been driving lorrys for 3 years and ive already seen stuff thats made me have to pull over until i stopped shaking, these are as real as that insurance qoute the sneaky buggers never forget to post each year

oooo i found the front of the escort and you would think you were pretty safe in a new bora wouldnt you?? not with a croatian lorry driver behind you.......

That really is frightening stuff. Im not too partial of seriously breaking the speed limit anyway, but accelaration is my thing. Perhaps i'll leave off my lead boots when driving from now on!  :lipsrsealed:

Some of these pictures are a set up. They were done as part of a safety campaign and then put in various positions. I.E. the A3 and the Escort are not real.

Just think about it, a 2 ton chunk of metal hitting a tree like that full force, unless it has roots that are about 40ft deep it wouldn't still be standing, certainly not without any other damage to it.

Some of the crashes are real but those two for example are not.

I could see what you mean about the escort mate because thinking about it there is no random car parts scattered, but the A3 in the other pictures it looks like someone went to some serious effort to take all that bark off of all the other trees!

sorry i wont bug you with anymore pics! i just find them amazing :nerd:

The A3 was real. The set up was that they took the parts back and laid them out again for a photshoot iirc.

I'm sure the Escort one is real as I've seen that one before. You are welcome to prove me wrong.

The tree wont suffer that much damage as it just absorbs the energy from the car at one of its strongest point. Trees only go down when they are pushed over from the top - like the high winds in the canopy - then they fall over. But a Ford smashing into it is nothing.
