petrol - optimax
« on: 02 February 2006, 16:51 »
Hi folks, does it make any difference to a 1.8T (150hp) on what fuel is used.  ie, any difference between 95 and 98 octane (optimax) fuel, or are they mapped/set up as standard for 95 and therefore 98 will make no difference??

Cheers.

There will be a difference on optimax, but nothing you will notice I dont think.  My car is set up to run on 98ron so i use optimax all the time.  If you have a remap done then some of these programs are designes to run on 98/99 ron fuel

My car has only tasted optimax since it left the showroom, I don't think it likes the taste of other brands
